Sonya Basseri,

Leadership and Israel Program Manager, Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle

Sonya Basseri is excited to serve as the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s IsraelNow Program Manager. A lifelong Jewish educator, she loves helping people build meaningful connections with Israel, Jewish life, and each other. Sonya grew up in Seattle and earned her BA from the University of Washington and her MA from Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles.

When she’s not planning Israel adventures, Sonya enjoys walks with friends, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family of five. Her favorite part of traveling to Israel is running into old friends in the most unexpected places and, of course, enjoying the best cucumbers in the world!
